Pathfinders is a committee based in the Qantas community which raises funds for the Royal Institute for Deaf and Blind Children. Since its formation in 1967, it has raised over $6.1 million and is one of the most successful fundraising committees in Australia.
It draws its members from across Qantas including cabin crew, ground staff, technical crew and former Qantas staff members and their families.
Pathfinders has a great emphasis on combining fun and fundraising. Some of its major activities include the annual Qantas Jumbo Joy Flight for children with disabilities and disadvantaged children, the Splash for Cash swimathon, the Qantas Pathfinders Charity Flight - each year to a different destination, Trivia nights, the Pathfinders Revue - a live theatre production showcasing the wealth of talent from within Qantas ranks - and a major lottery which features fantastic prizes.
